Ok, so I’ve added some links to baby/pregnancy/birthing websites and blogs recently, so let me go ahead and clear a few things up. I am not pregnant, nor are Denny and I trying to get pregnant. I am just extremely interested in pregnancy and childbirth. If I hadn’t decided to become a teacher, I would have been a midwife. Well, I would have liked to, but I don’t think I could have passed all of the science classes (I’m pretty bad at those). I love all things baby, and I am so interested in learning all that I can about pregnancy and childbirth. Plus after all, I will be pregnant someday. Just not next week, or next month, or even next year (hopefully).

Locks of Love
21 12 2007If you don’t know already, I cut off all of my hair! A whole 13 inches! I had been thinking about a haircut for a long time, but I never could actually do it. I was scared. But enough was enough. I finally got to the point where I didn’t do anything with it anymore. Some mornings, I would leave the house with it fresh-out-of-the-shower wet. It just hung there, like a mop. Not very attractive at all. So this past Monday, I made an appointment, and the very next day, it happened. Before I even knew what was going on, my hair was gone. So what happened to all of that hair? I sent it to Locks of Love, and it will be used(along with 5 – 9 other people’s ponytails) to make some hairless little girl (or boy) a new head of hair. So I feel great about it. My hair looks wonderful (I think) and I donated to a good cause. Since I’m at work, I can’t really put any pictures up just yet (Flickr is blocked), so you will just have to wait a few more hours to see my new ‘do.

The Results of My Photo Session
21 12 2007Ok, so I learned a valuabe lesson this week: I do not really like taking pictures of people. They are so hard to deal with. They don’t cooperate very well with what I want them to do. And they move around too much. Who am I talking about? My brother and sister. My brother was in a bad mood and wasn’t really an enthusiastic participant. And my sister was a giggly wiggly worm the entire time. So 50 pictures later, how may were usable? Drum roll please………………. (can you sense my sarcasm?) Ta-da! 3 of my brother, 2 of my sister, and 1 of them together. That is pathetic. Closed eyes, turned heads, sudden movements, and half-smiles made this photo session a struggle for me. But I ended up enough pictures to fill a frame for grandma, so the hard work paid off. So in the end, I realized that other than babies, I don’t think I’ll be photographing people anymore. Hey, at least I learned sooner, instead of later.
